This image shows the 'plug hole' at Torside Reservoir.
I visited Torside Reservoir earlier in the year to get this bucket-list photograph but the water level was too low. It had been quite a hike from the car park so I spent some time trying to find something else to photograph, but no luck. As I was packing up, I met a lady walking her dog who lived locally. I asked her if it overflowed at any particular time of year, and she offered to let me know when it was in flood. About six months later, she emailed me with the news so I headed over (this time with my bike) and got the shot. It was an overcast day which helped keep the refections down. I tried other compositions that show more of the reservoir and the hills beyond but I much preferred the graphic nature of this composition.
